Lancashire Innovation Festival #LANIF22

This year’s event was on Friday 7th October 2022 where we talked to both support organisations and businesses learning from the Lancashire innovation festival and what is happening in Lancashire, and how collaboration is working well.

It was held at Brockholes in their Green Conference facility.

The agenda for the day then was as follows:

1st Session – Funding – 8.30am to 10.15am

Starting with breakfast we held a roundtable, hosted by Mark Gibbons from Access 2 Finance Lancashire.

Mark was also supported by Ian Dixon who brought a wealth of knowledge to the table.  Further guests included Mark Hall an Accountant, Paul White from Patch to chat about how he raised money and Zain Javed from Mitigate Cyber talking about using Innovate UK funding.

Coffee/Comfort break

2nd Session – Innovation in Manufacturing 10.30am to 12.00pm

Pete McOnie of The University of Sheffield AMRC, a world-class centre for advanced manufacturing research, will discuss projects on which AMRC have collaborated with SMEs. He will discuss the entire process including the involvement of Made Smarter.

Alan Reid, Engineer and Boost Relationship Manager who specialises in manufacturing will host a session on SMEs who have innovated, how they went about it and what they are doing now.

Lunch 12.00pm – 1pm

Informal networking opportunities and a chance to visit the various stands

3rd Session – ECO and Energy – 1pm – 2.30pm

Becky Toal from Crowberry Consulting & Energy will host a session on who is doing what, and the various potentials for innovation that are out there. SMEs will chat about what they are doing and the funds, if any, that are available to encourage hitting eco targets re Innovate UK.

Break for cakes and coffee 30 mins- chance to network again/catch up with stands

4th Session – What is Happening in Lancashire? – 3pm to 4pm

A chance to catch up with Rory Southworth chatting with our the Innovation Challenge winners to find out where they are at.

Innovation Champions roundtable – Lets start talking about social innovation and get the conversation going.
